Abused pit bulls in Austin

The following article caused our heads to explode all over the wall, pardon us while we clean up.

Animal cruelty case sparks increase in pitt (sic) bull rescue efforts

Apparently a pit bull was found walking down the road in Travis County with his head and mouth duct taped closed and shot in the shoulder.

Amazingly, while Austin police and animal control officers seem to have unlimited time and resources to persecute animal rescuers and steal their animals under color of law, no one is even going to investigate this.

We tried to determine whether this dog’s story is being nvestigated. Because there is no owner associated no one has been charged and it does not appear that any agency is looking in to it.

Does this seem wrong to anyone except us? Anyone? Bueller?

NOT INVESTIGATING IT BECAUSE THERE IS NO OWNER?!!! Doesn’t it trouble them at all that there is a person out there capable of such viciousness? And that this person may perpetrate further heinous crimes against other animals or even people? This is scary behavior. Whether the animal’s owner can be identified does NOT diminish the seriousness of the crime. I can’t believe this agency’s stance! I thought their law covers cruelty to animals. I guess not. It only covers cruelty to owners due to the loss of their animal….not cruelty to an animal.

Boy, I hope I am not living next to an individual suffering from this type of mental derangement.

Yep, that’s what it’s like living in Austin.
Make sure you don’t do any animal rescue, though, or they will be after you in a heart beat.
